I am writing a new article to go in the family mediation section of Law Plain and Simple – http://www.lawplainandsimple.com/legal-guides/area/family-mediation – about whether or not family mediation is seen as expensive and it would be really interesting to hear your thoughts about:
a) The lowest cost mediation service that I am aware of charges a standard rate of less than £50 per person per hour including VAT with further cost reductions using mediation packages. Does this make you feel that you would be getting a bargain or would you be suspicious about why it is so cheap?
b) The highest cost mediation service that I am aware of charges a standard rate of more than £350 per person per hour including VAT with no option for reducing these costs. Does this make you feel that the service is reassuringly expensive or that you would be paying over the odds?
Please use the survey below or send a tweet using the link below @mediator_family saying a) either “bargain” or “too cheap” and b) either “reassuring” or “too expensive”

Of course, there are a lot of factors that can affect the relative value of different mediators in different circumstances and it would therefore also be really interesting if you could use the comments section below or Twitter to share your reasons why you have given your selected answers and to say what you feel might be a sensible hourly rate per person for mediation with an experienced and appropriately skilled mediator.
Thank you for your help with this.
